Credentialing
Every provider at SJC is credentialed by our Medical Directors to perform interventions they have the training, education, and competency to perform.
We recognize no patient is textbook, and our providers are empowered to make decisions in the care of patients commensurate with their education and state scope of practice.
Patient Care Guidelines
Our patient care guidelines are written and approved by our company Medical Directors based on current standards of practice and evidence.
Research plays a major role in the development of our guidelines. Our patient care guidelines are state-agnostic, written to best practice standards, and modified if needed to comply with state regulations.
Continued Training
Continued education is important to maintain quality care. We've partnered with FOAMfrat, a Wisconsin based EMS education company, to ensure our employees have 24/7 access to one of the most progressive continuing education platforms.
Medical Direction
SJC has multiple Physician Medical Directors licensed in various states on staff to provide online and offline medical direction.
What is an Advanced Paramedic?
An Advanced Paramedic is a licensed Paramedic who meets specific credentialing criteria. At SJC, an Advanced Paramedic is board certified through the International Board of Specialty Certifications as one of the following:
- Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C)
- Flight Paramedic (FP-C)
- Tactical Paramedic (TP-C)
- Wilderness Paramedic (WP-C)
In addition, an Advanced Paramedic has completed and maintains the following courses:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC)
Advanced Paramedics are eligible to perform prehospital anesthesia, lifesaving surgical procedures, management of complex ill and injured patients, and more.
What Advanced Interventions do you Perform?
SJC Paramedics and Advanced Paramedics perform rapid sequence induction, blood administration, simple and tube thoracostomy, foley catheter insertion, ventilator management, escharotomy and cricothyrotomy, and can assist Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians in thoracotomy and resuscitative hysterotomy.
Do you Utilize Advanced Training?
SJC sends our staff through advanced training courses located across the United States. Some of these courses include:
- Austere Emergency Care (ANR)
- Technical Austere Medical Evacuation (SOARescue)
- Extended Austere Provider (SOARescue)
- Wilderness Medical Special Operations (RedSTAR)
SJC has partnered with FOAMfrat to provide a Critical Care Training Academy in North Dakota. This academy prepares experienced Paramedics to provide critical care and uses online and in-person education and simulaiton.
SJC sends its providers to other specialized courses dependent on the need of our customers such as wildland fire training and sports medicine.
